Spring Fling 2022 Details

There seem to be errors in Google Maps and some GPS for the park. We strongly recommend you print and take these directions with you.

Directions From Orlando, Gainesville, Tampa, all points north and east:

Moccasin Lake Nature Park

2750 Park Trail Ln, Clearwater, FL 33759

(from North Take I-75 to I-275 South) , (from West take I-4 to I-275 South)

Take I-275 South

Take exit 39 to merge onto FL-60 W/E State Rd 60 W toward Tampa Airport 1.6 miles

Take exit 2A for FL-60 W toward Clearwater .4 miles

Continue onto FL-60 W/E State Rd 60 W (Courtney Campbell Causeway) 10.2 miles

GOOGLE DIRECTION AND GPS MAY BE WRONG FROM THIS POINT ON USE THESE:

When you reach the Clearwater side turn

Right on McMullen Booth, 1.2 mles.

Left on 590, about 1 mile

Left on Calomondin Lane to end (a few blocks)

[if you miss Calomondin, take East Virginia Lane instead and skip the 2 blocks at end]

Right to just before dead end, the park, just not the entrance, 3 blks.

Left to end, two blocks or so

Right, you'll see pretty park entrance.

Building at back of parking lot is where we dance.

Anyone coming south on US 19 (Port Richey, Hudson, Spring Hill etc.)

just turn left instead of right at the NE Coachman Road exit and follow the same directions.

Directions from Sarasota and points south

Slow and easy route From Sarasota, after Skyway bridge take exit 17 (veer left) and go north on U.S. 19 From there:

In about 20 miles, Exit Rt. 590, NE Coachman Rd, one exit past Rt. 60. Right toward Safety Harbor In about a quarter mile, Right on Calamondin to end (a few blocks) Right to just before dead end, the park, just not the entrance, 3 blks. Left to end, two blocks or so Right, you'll see pretty park entrance.

We are not allowed to collect money at the park. Please use the following link to pay. (goes towards hall rent). Note:chaange the quantity from 0 to 1,2 or whatever is appropriate before checking out.

Covid Rules

It is assumed that all participants are vaccinated and boosted. If you are not please get the most reliable test you can as close to the event as possible as most of the participants are older and we need to protect members against Covid. Other details.

This will be a potluck as usual with lunch starting roughly around noon. We will have a microwave available but there will not be a fridge available. Please consider bringing a crock pot if your contribution needs heating.

The park opens at 10. You can come early to look at raptors, the education center or the lovely paths. We start setting up at 11, so feel free to join us then.

Please bring scarves for Valle e Planes and spoons for Turkish dances if desired.
